Hailey Roy (she/her)
MA, RCC

Hailey is a Registered Clinical Counsellor offering phone and video/virtual counselling services to adults on Vancouver Island and across British Columbia. She works with individuals, couples, and families, offering support to children (6+), youth, and adults of all ages.

Hailey offers an encouraging space for clients beginning to consider making changes in their lives. She acknowledges the courage it takes to seek counselling and believes that within each individual is the strength to achieve their goals and live their lives to the fullest. From this place, Hailey offers a supportive environment to explore change, identify desired steps, and take action toward preferred outcomes.

She focuses on supporting clients who are having difficulty navigating life changes and decisions, including new relationships, pregnancy, and education transitions. She can help with relationship concerns, infidelity, and relationship breakdown. She offers support navigating parenthood and can help with parent-teen conflict. Hailey has experience helping clients with mental health concerns, including depression and anxiety, and stress management. She also has a background supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD. Hailey has experience working in a palliative care context and is able to support clients with processing death, dying, grief and loss.

Hailey works with couples to explore attachment roots and communication styles, fostering a deeper understanding of how to create the connection they desire. Through emotionally focused therapy (EFT), Hailey supports the exploration of emotional barriers while weaving in practical solution-based modalities to empower couples to take intentional steps towards the relationship they want. Hailey is a sex-positive therapist and provides an inclusive, non-judgmental counselling environment.

Hailey is passionate about supporting children and youth, and has extensive experience doing so. In her work with young clients, Hailey provides support with social skill development, family dynamics, stress management, problematic substance use, complex trauma, sexuality and gender exploration, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy. Her training and experience supporting neurodiverse clients extends to support for children and youth.

Hailey’s credential of Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist reflects her training and experience supporting neurodivergent clients. Her approach uses neurodiversity-affirming interventions to work with clients' unique needs, individual differences, and passions. Hailey’s focus is on supporting clients to embrace their strengths and more effectively manage their challenges, allowing them to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

She approaches her work from a trauma-informed, strengths-based and solution-focused lens. Hailey uses cognitive behavioural (CBT), emotionally focused (EFT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), and narrative therapy in her counselling work.

Hailey brings years of experience as a Registered Social Worker to her practice. She has worked in youth justice, mental health and substance use, crisis management and palliative care environments. Hailey has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Additional training in supporting first responders complements her training and experience. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
