Victoria is a Counselling Student Intern based in Squamish, BC, offering affordable phone and video services to clients (16+) across Alberta and British Columbia. She works with individuals, couples, and families.
Victoria’s practice is rooted in creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. She believes in the power of building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust and respect. Her goal is to help clients navigate challenges, gain self-awareness, reduce emotional distress, build mental health strategies, develop resilience, and feel empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Victoria supports clients dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss, parenting, child-parent relationships, family stress, bullying experiences, boundary setting, school or work stress, and more. She has extensive experience supporting clients with neurodiversity (ADHD and autism), developmental disorders, learning disabilities, and difficulties with school, work, or social adjustment. She is a trauma informed provider, and is a culturally sensitive counsellor who offers support to clients of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
Her counselling approach is client-centred and integrative, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and trauma-informed care. Victoria tailors her interventions to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring a personalised and effective counselling experience.
Drawing on her years as a teacher specializing in mental health and special education, she adopts a compassionate and holistic approach to counselling, prioritizing solution and strength-based therapies when working with clients.
Victoria holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Education, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Special Education, and a Masters in Aboriginal Education. Currently, she is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a student member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
In her personal time, Victoria enjoys trail running, decompressing with friends and family, and spending time outside with her husband and two amazing dogs.
Victoria acknowledges and respects the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Squamish Nation where she lives, works, and plays and is committed to fostering inclusive and culturally sensitive counselling practices.
